Environmental Engineer

Reports to: Director, Research & Design Portion Pack Engineering


POSITION DESCRIPTION

As the life cycle assessment (LCA) expert, the Environmental Engineer will; design, develop, and put into action environmental research utilizing life cycle assessment methodologies for the entire Keurig product line. This position will supply the essential research, data and overall support to update development standards and will assist in the evaluation of product qualifications.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute Life Cycle Assessments on a wide range of Keurig products.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of environmental issues through research to aid in decision making and standard implementation.
  • Utilize various scientific concepts/principles in the investigation of new product testing.
  • Keep current with new LCA technologies, trends and requirements.
  • Represent Keurig at scientific meetings and academic conferences.
  • Perform other duties as directed.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering
  • 5+ years of industry experience in performing and analyzing Life Cycle Assessment. Consumer Packaged Goods experience preferred.
  • Proficiency using life cycle databases (GaBi 4 a plus).
  • Knowledge of technical vocabulary with the ability to translate concepts to non-technical
  • Experience performing Life Cycle Inventories, LCA modeling, and an understanding of environmental impacts and impact methodologies.
  • Ability to apply LCA principles to standards development is a plus.
  • Ability to uphold Safety standards, participate in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follow our business best practices.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic teaming environment, be punctual, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to follow Keurig policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel.
