Financial Analyst

Reports to: Director or Manager of Finance


POSITION DESCRIPTION

The individual will play a major role in the development and analysis of the organization's various financial milestones and will ensure appropriate methods are in place to track volume, profit and other key metrics critical to running the business and to making critical, time-sensitive decisions. The role also provides critical analytical support to several business units with heavy emphasis on working closely with these teams to help them drive company performance while maintain appropriate control.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop financial framework by analyzing operational requirements; developing support and control structures and systems; creating profitability models. Develops financial plans contributing financial information, analysis, and recommendations to operational strategic thinking and direction; establishing financial objectives; preparing and updating forecasts; preparing annual operating and capital budgets
  • Maintain financial performance by developing operating and financial metrics; analyzing results and trends; providing budget variance feedback; driving financial accountability throughout assigned operating units
  • Organize, drive, and consolidate Annual Operation Plan, and all forecasts and any other management reporting and/or presentations, as required
  • Drive financial performance/Provide earnings estimate to management/leadership and suggest operational actions required to achieve financial targets
  • Promote and communicate key elements of the various financial milestones across the organization
  • Provide leadership and direction to colleagues within the FP&A organization
  • Initiate, maintain and improve relationships with stakeholders in all Departments, including Finance, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Research & Development, Supply Chain, etc.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, advanced degree and/or certification preferred
  • 5 years related financial experience required, including budgeting, forecasting, planning, analysis, and building financial models for Consumer Packaged Goods industry companies
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; comfortable communicating with various management levels
  • Excellent drive for results and complex problems solving skills coupled with the ability to build strong strategic working relationships
  • General knowledge of accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Must be adaptable, able to multi-task and take on additional responsibilities as necessary
