eCommerce Web Developer

Reports to: Director - Information Systems & Technology


POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a Web Developer for Keurig, Inc., working in our Reading, MA office, your primary task will be to support our Marketing group in designing and building the functional components of Keurig.com using Microsoft technologies. Marketing will look to you to take non-technical requirements and produce the desired technical solutions to accommodate their goals. Your skilled abilities with Microsoft's .NET platform and Microsoft SQL Server paired with your working knowledge of XML, XSLT, and Microsoft’s Commerce Server, and any talents you possess with other Web 2.0 technologies will serve as a technical foundation and spring board for this role. Your knack for thinking outside the box, interest in contributing to projects outside the scope of your defined responsibilities, and your capability of working independently and managing yourself will allow you to establish yourself as a key member of our technology team. This technology team, based in Waterbury VT, is available to leverage on more complex or resource intensive projects. RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be closely aligned with the Marketing group, acting as the Ambassador for the larger Applications group and should be comfortable:

  • Communicating effectively with a dispersed team
  • Defining requirements for projects
  • Building relationships and understanding eCommerce business process
  • Working independently mostly but interfacing with small groups of up to 5 people
  • Technical documentation: design, workflow, project schedules, reporting
The end result of this collaboration is to author HTML and ASP/ASP.Net pages based on Microsoft’s eCommerce platform to improve keurig.com. To realize this end result, on a day to day basis, you should be competent in accomplishing the following:
  • Build html/asp pages and forms from scratch or based on templates using Visual Studio
  • Code business logic via ASP.NET using Visual Studio
  • Create efficient encapsulated SQL or Stored Procedures
  • Create global elements or objects for reuse such as Master Pages, Business Objects, and/or Windows Services
  • Create custom tables in SQL that are then exposed via Web pages to support business initiatives and Marketing programs
  • Author and Maintain SQL SSIS packages to synchronize data to/from the website database to the Financial database
  • Utilize Microsoft's eCommerce Server platform to integrate data to Microsoft Great Plains
  • Unit and system test your authored components
  • Design and implement templates using the C2 framework (Team Foundation Services) and Sitecore Content Management Systems
  • On a Yearly basis, projects are assigned to each member of the IT team. The successful candidate demonstrates the ability to complete projects in a variety of roles throughout and should be comfortable:
    1. Documenting design specifications
    2. Completing a project plan or schedule
    3. Meeting participation
    4. Reporting status on a regular basis to the larger group
    5. Multi-tasking and/or multi-role playing such as gathering requirements and implementer on small projects


QUALIFICATIONS

A successful candidate will have the following background:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related computer field.
  • 3-5 years implementing Web Based solutions on Microsoft the following Microsoft platforms:
    • ASP.NET, VB.NET
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2005
    • Microsoft Commerce Server
    • Microsoft Internet Information Systems (IIS) v6
  • Cross browser web design that includes Internet Explorer v6+, Safari, and Mozilla
  • Exposure (1-2 years) to Team Foundation Services and Sitecore Content Management solutions
  • Proven track record interfacing with a Sales or Marketing group to define requirements and bring them to fruition
