FAQ & User Guide

  • How do I separate the bottom of the water filter handle in order to insert the filter?
On the bottom of the handle, press in the tabs on both sides of the base at the same time and pull down to separate. Note: the tabs are located where the lines form an upside down triangle right above the Keurig® word mark.
  • How do I install the Keurig® Water Filter?
To use the Water Filter, soak and insert the filter cartridge in the bottom of the handle assembly. Simply grasp the handle and insert it into your empty, removable water reservoir. Be sure to push down firmly all the way down to correctly attach the Water Filter to the inside of your removable water reservoir.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to work as advertised I never had a problem with the water filter but wondered why it didn't really seem to make a difference. It turns out that water filters reduce chlorine in the water - if you don't have a noticeable chlorine taste in your water, it's not going to taste much different. Filters do not remove calcium as some folks think - you just have to descale to remove the mineral deposits. http://support.keurig.com/article?id=kA036000000CJx1

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coffee tastes better than home-brewed Espresso! I was a hard and fast home espresso maker for over a decade. I heard of Keurig but swore I would never buy one. In January this year I finally decided to try one. I bought the K425 2.0 (red) model and now actually PREFER its coffee to making my own espresso. I bought a 'frother' and use it to froth cold milk which cools the coffee to the right temp for my latte. I made coffee from my Capresso espresso machine and now actually prefer my Keurig coffee, even when made from various coffee makes pods. I still can't believe it. TY Keurig for a fabulous product. BTW, I live on 5 acres with a well and don't have chlorine in my water. Do I still need a filter? I have a water filter on my system for other things.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Keurig 2.0 coffee maker quit-Keurig replace it! I am writing to tell you all that Keurig is wonderful. My 2.0 coffee maker just stopped working. Keurig is replacing and I should have the new one in about 3 days. What I wanted to add to this subject, I use filtered water from my refrigerator so I don't have to use a filter in the machine. I read where several of you have had tabs break off when you change the filter. My refrigerator gets a new filter every 4-6 months. That water is perfect for brewing coffee.
